Carroll Chapter Meeting

Writers are naturally shy, but if you ask us about our book or what we're working on, we'll gladly talk your ear off. This is where knowing how to pitch your book, using the elevator pitch/logline method, comes in handy preventing rambling and other faux pas. When talking to a random person in line at a store, at a book fair, or an agent at a writers conference, it's important be condifent, specific, and quick.

At this meeting we'll arm you with some tips and tricks on what you need to have in your pitch plus how to perfect it to get your message across get strangers say, 'Tell me more' or 'I want to buy your book now'. DO bring your pitch to practice in front of the group in a super supportive setting.  It's not about perfection, but getting comfortable talking about your book/story, in front of people (open mic style), clearly and specifically. Also, DO bring your notebook/journal and pen or laptop to take notes.
