South Baltimore June Meeting Reminder
June 11, 2025
7:00 PM EDT - 8:30 PM EDT
Little Havana, Hemingway Room
1325 Key Highway
Baltimore, MD 21230
Matt's a former magazine journalist and finding the right frame was easy. Now he's pitching a non-fiction book. The frame he pitched an editor was perfect until it was time to fit things inside it. If he can't find some flexibility in that frame, he might have to scrap it.

Matt Mossman is a Baltimore-based journalist focused on the global economy. After a break from writing to work for foreign aid organizations, he's now shaping a book proposal on what comes next for the US-Canada relationship. His working title is "The Bad Neighbors Club".
Matt is a citizen of both countries, and plans to combine his border-town heritage with his experience in developing-country economics to report on issues -- and opportunities -- that won't go away because goodwill has been destroyed. He believes there are lessons to learn from poor and middle-income countries that have more experience handling a bully country. He plans to approach editors on both sides of the border, and that means shaping his proposal for different audiences and finding framing that offers cohesion without restriction.
We ask that anyone who plans to attend in-person be vaccinated and wear a mask.
If you’d like to attend in person, RSVP no later than two days before the meeting to [email protected] to receive the location address.
