Elections, Planning, & Guided Writing Exercises

First hour - Elections will be held and all paid members MWA belonging to the Carroll Chapter are encouraged to come and vote for Carroll Officers. Following this we will open the floor to all in attendance to weigh in on what you want to see meetings held from July - December 2024. Want more guest speakers? Love the idea of being apart of round table discussions where we freely discuss topics ranging from navigating social media for authors to have a healthy discussion about A.I. how it can help and hurt authors? Want more genre focused or memoir/non-fiction focused meetings? Do you want to present on a topic? Just want to share some of your work in progress via open mic style? This is how you can let your voice be heard to fill up the rest of the 2024 calendar year. 

Second hour - Here Amy Soscia Paloski, Carroll Vice President, will lead the group on a sensory writing exercise regarding food.  Both food we love and foods we can't state and how to write about all the aspects of food, aside from just visual and taste to make one's writing jump off the page. All are encouraged to bring your notebooks and laptops to write and do feel free to bring one piece of food (think easy to transport that won't melt, like a piece of fruit) or photos of food.

All are welcome and this meeting which is held in person, not via Zoom.
