Program: We will be learning about intellectual property, the ways an author can protect their work and the legal entanglements that they may face along the way. This will not be a free legal advice session, just important points that we can be aware of to protect our work.
Presenter: Paula B. Mays is an attorney with over thirty years of experience. Her legal experience has varied from a start in criminal law, to intellectual property, specifically trademarks, and now healthcare. She also pursued a Masters in Public Health (MPH), from the George Washington University late in her career I am a native of Washington DC raised by a single mother, who was both brilliant and resourceful. She attended boarding school at St. Timothy’s in Stevenson, Maryland, a Baltimore suburb, as her mother was concerned that the black students were not being well-educated in schools facing conflict from the new policy of busing. Paula wants her mystery novels to express the beauty in diversity.
The St. Mary's & Calvert Counties Chapter meets on the fourth Saturday of every month at 1:00 pm.
