Today, authors have greater opportunities to reach readers and earn a living with their writing. In this workshop, authors will discover opportunities beyond the traditional and indie options of selling through Amazon. The workshop will cover:

• Why authors need to consider alternative book publishing and distribution options.
• Overview of emerging and expanding opportunities, including selling wide, selling direct, serialization, and subscriptions, commissions, and more
• Tips on deciding what options are best and making them work.
  

Leslie Truex is an accidental writer, starting a career website in 1998 that resulted in a freelance writing career and two traditionally published nonfiction books. Later she switched to writing fiction, and as a hybrid author, has penned over a dozen romance and mystery novels using a pen name. As a former literary agent, Leslie enjoys sharing her insights and experiences to help emerging authors get their books published. She also supports authors through her online community for romance writers. Leslie has spoken and provided workshops as an author and agent at a host of events, including The Virginia Festival of the Book, Malice Domestic, Maryland Writers Association, The Virginia Writers Club, as an adjunct at Piedmont Virginia Community College, and more. She is the former president of The Virginia Writers Club.
