Shakespeare wrote, "Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?" Elizabeth Barret Browning wrote, "How do I love thee? Let me count the ways." Sylvia Plath wrote, "Pure as a pane of ice. It’s a gift."
Join the South Baltimore Chapter in-person at the Enoch Pratt Free Library, Central Branch for a reading, discussion and workshop centering expressions of love, romantic or otherwise. We will read these and other iconic pieces professing the depths of that great human emotion - love. We'll discuss what makes these lines so eternally moving. And we'll challenge one another to write a piece (poem or otherwise) to give a loved one (romantic or otherwise) this Valentine's Day!
The February 2024 meeting for the South Baltimore Chapter will be in person. ALSO, it is not on our normal date. We typically meet on the second Wednesday of the month. This February, that falls on Valentine's Day, February 14! So we scooched up a week, and will meet Wednesday, February 7 at 7 p.m. at the Enoch Pratt Free Library, Central Branch, 400 Cathedral Street, Baltimore, MD 21201, in Classroom 1802. Metered street parking available. Transit accessible via MTA bus 51, 94, Blue, Green, Pink or Silver, Charm City Circulator Purple Line Stops 305 (North Charles and Pleasant Street) or 306 (North Charles and Hamilton Street), Light Rail at Centre Street or Lexington Market, and Metro at Charles Center or Lexington Market.
