Magnificent Maryland Writers, Welcome to June!
The month of June takes its name from “Juno”, the Roman goddess of marriage – which is strange, because she is most often depicted in the garb of war with sword in hand. Or maybe that makes sense, after all. Either way, it’s a beautiful time of year here in Maryland and we’re having lovely weather for a wedding – or a graduation – or any other event that inaugurates the start of something new and wonderful.
What will you begin today? A fresh line of poetry perhaps, or an entirely new cosmos rife with weird forms of intelligence and countless exotic worlds – most of which will likely suffer from some form of warfare or calamity, I expect. Queue the heroes and heroines!
Because we are the makers, sires and dams of countless imaginary generations that like seeds spawn endless gardens of dreams within countless interested minds. Our words become their words, and so we wield a fantastic authority that can shape our past, stimulate our present, and prognosticate our future. Exercise your superpower this month if you dare!

Support your peers! MWA celebrates local authors in many ways, so take time to enjoy Maryland's authors by supporting our Teen Writers Anthology.
If your profile requires a bit of grooming, tend your Association business via our website. If your membership expires this month, be certain to renew it to continue enjoying all these wonderful resources.
