Greetings, Authentic and Original (non-AI) Maryland Writer!
From the office of MWA's Executive Committee President, cheerful wishes for the very best in 2026. I know, I know… this seems doubtful from the perspective of December 2025 - the world is nuts right now.
Even so, we don’t have to be! In fact, as a writer, I feel my obligatory role as witness elevates me above the chaos, outrage, and screwball-itry of our everyday world. As an aloof outsider – an informed objective spectator – I can observe, draw conclusions, digest the information I gather, and then regurgitate my impressions of it in dialogue or character development or plot/scene renditions, all to the benefit of my readers. This perspective frees my emotions, eases my spirit, and – best of all – its byproducts feed my ravenous muse! So, my 2026 wish for you is just this, the peace of mind found in the company of your inner artist.
To spin a tired mantra, that’s like making lemonade from life’s lemons! Now that your pulse is racing from hearing this good news, the best is yet to come because boilerplate follows:

Support your peers! MWA celebrates local authors in many ways, so take time to enjoy Maryland's authors by supporting our Teen Writers Anthology.
If your profile requires a bit of grooming, tend your Association business via our website. If your membership expires this month, be certain to renew it to continue enjoying all these wonderful resources.
