From Brain to Bookshelf Call for Workshop Proposals
MWA IS LOOKING FOR A FEW WONDERFUL WORKSHOPS
Are you ready to wow audiences with your expertise in the craft of writing, the development of a genre, the business of writing, or another writing topic?
MWA is now taking workshop applications for Brain to Bookshelf 2024, our annual conference, being held on October 19-20, 2024, at the Baltimore Hilton Hotel at BWI airport. We will be offering attendees over 25 unique workshops. Tell us why yours should be one of them.

Saturday October 19 - Sunday October 20, 2024

Submission deadline is June 1, but consider submitting your proposal earlier rather than later. Proposals will be reviewed by committee and we will follow up with you with any questions or clarification that we may need.
What: We are looking for workshops on poetry, nonfiction, memoir, fiction, children’s, screenwriting/playwriting, marketing, legal, financial, publicity, social media. Each workshop is 50 minutes long.
Compensation: We will pay $100.00 / workshop. If it is a panel, (more than one person) we pay $50.00 per participant up to a total of $150 per panel. You may also consign and sell your books in the MWA Conference Bookstore. Feel free to attend other workshop programs on the day of your presentation. If you want to pitch to an agent or small press representative on the day that you present, the cost is $30 per pitch. You will have the opportunity to sign up for pitches starting October 1, 2024 (subject to availability).
You are also invited to join us for lunch on the day you present. We do not pay travel expenses.

Note: Our members are looking for fresh insights and game-changing information to take their writing and publishing lives to the next level. Therefore, we request that you do not propose a workshop that you have presented at an MWA chapter meeting or conference in the last two years. Workshops that were submitted but not selected may be submitted again.
