Call for Nominations Announcement 2024

Dear Maryland Writers’ Association (MWA) Members:

The MWA Board Elections will be conducted virtually at the membership Annual Meeting.

DATE: Monday, June 17, 2024
TIME: 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

I personally encourage you to run for office or to nominate another member. Only through our volunteer efforts, each taking a turn, will we be able to continue building a strong, active, and successful Maryland Writers’ Association.

All elected or appointed terms commence on July 1, 2024.

Please fill out the Board and Leadership Nomination Form located on the MWA website at https://marylandwriters.org/form.php?form_id=65 to express your interest in one of the positions. The following positions are open for nomination:

• President – Elected 2-year term, voting member of the Board
• Vice-President – Elected 2-year term, voting member of the Board
• Treasurer – Elected 2-year term, voting member of the Board
• Secretary – Elected 2-year term, voting member of the Board
• Member-at-Large (2 positions) – Elected 2-year term, voting member of the Board
• Program Chair – Appointed by President with no fixed term, voting member of the Board
• Teen Writer Coordinator – Appointed by President with no fixed term, voting member of the Board
• Publication Chair – Appointed by President with no fixed term, voting member of the Board
• Graphics Coordinator – Appointed by President with no fixed term, non-Board Leadership position
• Critique Group Coordinator – Appointed by President with no fixed term, non-Board Leadership position
• First Fridays Vice President – Appointed by President with no fixed term, voting member of the Board
• First Fridays Secretary – Appointed by President with no fixed term, voting member of the Board

**Note: The officers filling these positions are seeking reelection. The positions are still open for interested individuals to run in the election as candidates.

You may nominate yourself or another member (inform the individual for consent) by filling out the Board and Leadership Nomination Form on the MWA website at https://marylandwriters.org/form.php?form_id=65. Descriptions of the positions can be found at https://marylandwriters.org/MWA_Leadership_Opportunities_2022. Nominations can be submitted starting on Friday, February 15, 2024 and must be received no later than Friday, May 10, 2024. Open nominations will also be permitted at the June 17^th Annual Membership Meeting.
